There are a few photos from our recent installations in the 2009 Rose Brand catalogue. The two examples shown here are both two-page spreads. In fact, our installations have had great exposure by Rose Brand as we have been featured on the inside cover every year since 2004.

Thank You Rose Brand!

In the September 2008 issue of Lighting & Sound America there is an in-depth article by David Barbour about the production shows installed on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas. The article is focused on the design challenge that Hariton/Baral Design faced with fitting four production shows in the ship’s main theatre, and details the process and end result of the overall project. Unfortunately, the article is not posted online at this time. The magazine’s website is here.

We recently completed this interactive exhibit for the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, KY. Items from the museum’s Yoruba collection were used to develop the exhibit. Activities for participants include making a variety of paper rubbings with Yoruba motifs and decorating a costume for an Egungun ritual.

Here is an example of a furniture prop that we recently built. The chaise was intentionally covered in the same fabric as the costume.

Independence Installation

Independence in CobhThe final show opened on June 12th.  This completed our installation work onboard which included four mainstage production shows, two production ice shows, and various elements for the Royal Promenade parades.  We began the installation process on March 10th in wintry Turku, Finland and had a crew onboard until June 14th.  This is a photo of the ship in Cobh, Ireland where a few of us went out one day and kissed the Blarney Stone.
